Meter Panels
Meter panels house metering and monitoring equipment to measure voltage, current, energy and related parameters for an installation.
Overview
About Meter Panels
A meter panel brings the metering and monitoring for an installation into one organised, accessible enclosure. It typically holds energy meters, indicating or multifunction instruments for voltage, current and power, current transformers where the load current is too high to be measured directly, and the terminals and protection that go with them. Keeping these together makes readings easy to take and makes the metering circuit easier to inspect and maintain.
Layout matters as much as the components. A well-designed meter panel groups instruments so that each feeder's readings can be found at a glance, places terminals where they can be reached safely, and identifies current and voltage transformer circuits clearly. Prime Volt Systems builds meter panels for 415 V, 3-phase, 50 Hz systems, to IS / IEC 61439, to the metering scheme you specify.
To quote this, please share
- Number of feeders or circuits to be metered
- Parameters needed (energy, demand, voltage, current, power factor)
- Utility metering requirements, if the meter is used for billing
- Current transformer ratios and accuracy class, if specified
- Incoming rating on the 415 V, 3-phase, 50 Hz supply
- Indoor or outdoor location and the IP rating needed
