MCC Panels
MCC panels bring motor starters, protection and control together in a single enclosure, providing organised, safe control of multiple motors across a facility.
Overview
About MCC Panels
A Motor Control Centre groups the starters, protection and control for many motors in one assembly, fed from a common busbar. Each motor feeder has its own compartment with a starter, overload protection and the control devices it needs, so one motor can be isolated, serviced or changed without shutting down the rest of the board. For a plant with many motors this is far more organised and safer than separate starters scattered around the site.
Starters can be direct-on-line, star-delta or soft-start, and a feeder can also include a variable frequency drive where speed control is needed (see VFD panels). Prime Volt Systems builds MCC panels with copper or aluminium busbars, to IS / IEC 61439, with feeder arrangements that can be extended as the plant grows.

- Motor list with rating (kW or HP), voltage and duty for each motor
- Starting method for each motor (DOL, star-delta, soft-start or VFD)
- Control scheme (local, remote, PLC interface) and the indications needed
- Incomer rating and the system fault level
- Busbar material preference (copper or aluminium)
- Spare feeders to leave for future motors
- Indoor or outdoor location and the IP rating needed

Common questions
- What is an MCC panel?
- A Motor Control Centre is an assembly that controls and protects multiple electric motors from a centralised panel.
- How is an MCC different from a PCC?
- An MCC focuses on controlling and protecting motors, while a PCC handles primary power distribution and control.
