Generator Synchronisation Panels
Generator synchronisation panels enable two or more generators (or generators and the mains) to run in parallel, matching voltage, frequency and phase for smooth load sharing.
Overview
About Generator Synchronisation Panels
Synchronising generators lets two or more of them, or a generator and the mains, share one load. Before a breaker can close onto a live busbar, the incoming source must match the busbar's voltage, frequency and phase angle. Closing out of step causes damaging currents and mechanical shock. A synchronisation panel brings together the controllers, breakers, protection and metering so that this match is checked and the closing happens at the right moment.
Once the sources are in parallel, load sharing divides the demand between them so that no single generator is overloaded, and sets can be added or removed as demand changes. That can improve reliability compared with relying on one large set. Prime Volt Systems builds generator synchronisation panels with protection and monitoring, to IS / IEC 61439, to the generator and control scheme you specify.
