Busduct Systems

Busduct systems carry high currents efficiently between equipment using enclosed copper or aluminium conductors, offering a compact and reliable alternative to large cable runs.

Overview

About Busduct Systems

Busduct, also called bus-trunking, carries large currents between equipment through enclosed copper or aluminium busbars instead of many parallel cables. In a high-rise riser, between a transformer and its main panel, or along a production line, a single busduct run can replace a bundle of heavy cables. It typically takes less space than the equivalent cable runs and gives a neat, easily inspected installation.

Because the conductors are enclosed and held at fixed spacing, the system is compact and its behaviour is predictable. Tap-off units allow loads to be connected along the run, and changes of direction are made with bends and joints. Prime Volt Systems supplies busduct with copper or aluminium conductors. Rated current, voltage and ingress protection are confirmed for each project against the applicable IS / IEC standards.
